Movility to Latvia
April, 15th 2018 (Sunday)
How exciting!! We had just arrived at the airport and we couldn’t stop thinking of that, in a couple of hours, we would be in Latvia. But suddenly we found out our flight was delayed for forty minutes. Even though we knew we could lose the flight connection to Latvia, we were still positive and we said: "It’s OK, we will arrive to our flight to Latvia, for sure!". During the flight to Frankfurt, our hopes were cut short. It was already certain that we were going to lose the flight.
It was very late and we felt tired, so we asked the flight company if they could give us some rooms to spend the night and rest. When they said that there were rooms available it was great, but when they said the hotel’s name... The Sheraton! it was even better. Although we had to spend the night in Frankfurt, it was an unforgettable experience.
April, 16th 2018 (Monday)
After losing our flight connection, and having slept in the Sheraton hotel, we took the flight from Frankfurt (Germany) to Riga (Latvia). Once we arrived there, we went to the school for the first time and we did our presentation of the three books we had chosen for the international library.
Later, we went to Leisure centre, where we learnt traditional dances with many nice girls. After that, we did some handcrafts with Latvian people. We were a little bit messy doing crafts, but it was a great experience.
In the evening, all the Erasmus+ students met at the hotel hall and we spoke about amazing things. It was great because even if it was the first day, we already had known everybody.
April, 17th 2018 (Tuesday)
We just got off the bus and it was very cold. We were going to visit a fortress used to defend Latvia against the Lithuanians.
It’s just behind us, even if you can’t see it very well, hahaha…
Later we went to The Park of Rundale Palace. To be true, it was nicer inside than it seemed to be on the outside.
And we took several photographs with our friends from Macedonia.
Since it was raining, we had to wear these fashionable bags to cover our feet during the visit of the palace.
Now we are ready to go through the fashion runaway!
The pictures we could see into the Palace resemble a little bit to us, don’t they? Hahaha…
April, 18th 2018 (Wednesday).
In the morning we went to the school. We started with some presentations about Latvian culture.
Then we did an activity with computers: we translated some words from English to Spanish. One hour later, we went to the Turkish Embassy and we tasted their typical tea and some Turkey ‘s cookies. They were so good!
We ate in a Kebab restaurant and then we went to a chocolate factory where we made a workshop and we ate some chocolate. Here there’s a picture of what we had made at the Factory.
Finally we went to the city centre and we did a tour around the Old Town. A guide explained us the history of the city and stories about some of the buildings too.
April,19th 2018 (Thursday)
We could sleep a few hours more that morning. That was a relief since we had been sleeping for 5-6 hours all week. First, we went to a museum, which was a recreation of a modernist house. There we were explained all the details about the old house. There were some rooms downstairs, where we took a lot of pictures with funny hats of those times. We dressed up all as girls, even José, hahaha. We also printed our own personalized modernist house with the name "the Spanish squad", of course.
Later on, we went to the centre for a walk with a guide. He explained us some of the houses where we were seeing on the way. He was the same guy who did the tour on Tuesday. We also went into a very beautiful Orthodox church and, later, we had something to eat in Lido again, haha, where we ate very well.

Once we finished the meal, after discussing where to go, we decided to take a risk and we went to the Baltic coast. We were the only ones of our group, but we had a great time. Before this, we went to a coffee shop from where we could see the whole city and we took some nice pictures.

When we arrived, the three of us decided to go to the jumping park. It was 8 p.m. and it closes at 10 p.m. It was funny because we got off the train one stop before, just to go to a supermarket and buy some food for dinner afterwards. We used Sandra's maps to arrive there, but that was a big mistake, because it did not work properly and we kept going around from one place to another. At the end we used Marina’ s Google maps and we got there, although we had to run with a backpack that weighed tonnes .
